Sunflower Crèches - Nursery

Crèches - Nursery (0-2 years)

Sunflower crèches accommodate children from the age of three months to four years.

Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 19:00, we are open all year, except for bank holidays and between Christmas and New Year.

At Sunflower, the children are separated into groups depending on their age and stage of development. Each group has a program and a Montessori environment specifically designed to stimulate and encourage them to achieve their developmental goals and meet their social and emotional needs.

Our spaces and classrooms have a range of stimulating toys, materials and activities in a bright, friendly atmosphere,  where parents can be confident that their little ones are safe and well looked after by qualified staff who are caring, loving and nurturing.

Learning materials are arranged invitingly on low, open shelves and provide an enriching experience for each particular age group.

We spend lots of time in our beautiful gardens experiencing nature in the fresh air.

Our classroom (2-4 years)

Each classroom at Sunflower contains activities and materials that together make up the prepared Montessori environment.

Learning materials are arranged invitingly on low, open shelves and provide an enriching experience for each particular age group.

Children are free to move within the Montessori environment and choose which activity to undertake. This is a key aspect of the Montessori philosophy.

Each piece of Montessori material is carefully designed to develop particular cognitive skills in a child’s developing mind. It is clear to the children what they must do with the material and is designed to allow them to see for themselves when they have succeeded.

It is truly a wonder and a joy to see the total immersion and concentration on a child’s face as they work in this way. The material is designed not only to develop a child’s cognitive skills, but also to promote confidence and self-esteem.

We strive to create a social setting that encourages the child to develop their social skills.
